Lara Allet studied physiotherapy in Leukerbad (1998-2002) and received a Master in Physiotherapy Sciences in 2006 (Zürich/Maastricht). Motivated to do a scientific career, she devoted herself, besides her clinical work as physiotherapist, to do a PhD at the University of Maastricht (Netherlands), in the Department of Epidemiology. The research related to her PhD was done in close collaboration with the laboratory of kinesiology Willy Taillard, the ETH Zurich and the EPF Lausanne. During these same years, she also obtained a diploma in Didactics of Higher Education and Technology of Education, at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
In 2009 she accepted a position as Research and Quality Officer at the Geneva University Hospital, as well as a teaching position at the University of Applied Sciences in Geneva.
Between 2010 and 2011 she got the opportunity to do a post doc at the University of Michigan with the financial support from the national Sciences foundation (PBSKP_123446). After that, she came back to Geneva where she prosecuted her scientific career and was nominated “Privat Docent” at the University of Geneva in 2014. Parallel to that she improved her management skills and obtained a master degree of the Geneva University in “Management in health care institutions”.
After her long career in Geneva, she joint in September 2019 the team of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis physiotherapy.
