Comparison of the mechanical behavior of injection molded dental ceramic components with components manufactured by conventional methods

Injection molding of ceramic is a production method complementary to hard- or green machining, which could become of interest in specific cases, among others for medium/large series. It offers the possibility to modulate the surface quality (roughness) on a singular component, to combine various materials and might present more homogeneous mechanical properties.

Simple shape ceramic components will be manufactured by CIM. Their mechanical behavior will be evaluated by static tests in aqueous media, in comparison with components manufactured from sintered or green stage.
