The Institute of Social Work coordinates the research activities of the teaching staff at the School of Social Work. It is therefore active in areas that cover the entire field of social work, with particular attention on:

  • Affects and Bodies
  • Profession and Organisations
  • Territory, Diversity and Migration

Located on the border between French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland, the School of Social Work in Sierre aims to be a bridge between the scientific discourse and traditions of the two languages. In its research, it draws on both languages’ theoretical and methodological approaches.

The research carried out by the School of Social Work seeks to support good practice by providing institutions, professionals and politicians with well-founded analyses, evaluations and proposals.
