Xavier Salamin is a Professor of Human Resources Management with a wealth of HR experience combining practice, research and teaching. Following a Bachelor's degree in social sciences and a Master's degree in international management at the University of Fribourg, he completed a doctoral thesis in the field of international HRM. He has worked in the HR departments of companies in various sectors including publishing, banking and watchmaking, specializing in international HRM, compensation and development. 

He recently led research projects and mandates in the fields of virtualization of work practices and digital HR; international mobility and integration of skilled migrants in Switzerland; evaluation of training effects on employability and career trajectories; and compensation within SMEs. Finally, he is represented on the editorial board of the Journal of Global Mobility.
