Tourism students in Izmir for Aceept 2021

What is Aceept?

ACEEPT is an international network which gathers different University Colleges in Tourism from all over Europe. Every year year, a different country organises a week-long intensive program based on a specific tourism-related theme. For the 2021 edition, it was the Yasar University of Izmir in Turkey that welcomed us with the theme "CREATING MEMORABLE GASTRONOMIC TOURISM EXPERIENCES". 

Unique projects

We were 12 students from the Tourism faculty of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis selected to participate in this enriching experience. We had the chance to work on this project to enhance the gastronomy experience in Izmir and to present it in a pitch at the end of the week. Before the trip, we had to prepare some pre-tasks like a presentation about a region in Switzerland or contacting sponsors in order to obtain Swiss products for the international fair that took place on the first evening.

During the week, visits, degustation, museum, study groups were organized, and the program was quite full. We were staying in a hotel with all the students, so we were able to meet and discuss with all the teams.  

The experience abroad

We felt very lucky to be part of this unforgettable experience as it was an opportunity to work with international students and share our different cultures. We created unique bonds while discovering a country and its gastronomy. This event has simply brought us closer, and we feel very grateful that the HES-SO offered us this occasion to fly abroad.

This program is made for people who love to socialize but who are also able to fit in any group to work on an interesting subject during one whole week. We would recommend this ACEEPT WEEK because you will improve your professional and personal skills as well as creating yourself a good network. This program will give you inspiring and stimulating ideas, but above all: incredible memories.
