Invited presentation: Igor Letovanec (Valais Hospital): "Digital pathology : Facts, opportunities and challenges"

Dr Igor Letovanec graduated from Lausanne University Medical School in 1999. He trained in pathology at the CHUV and HUG Hospitals and since 2010 has been working as pathologist - médecin associé - at the CHUV, in charge of thoracic, bone and soft tissue and skin pathology. Since 2020 he is Head of the Pathology Department of the Valais Hospital Central Institute and kept an affiliation to the CHUV. Dr Letovanec authored or co-authored over 90 papers in peer reviewed journals (Cancer Discovery, Journal of Thoracic oncology or Nature among others). His main fields of research are biomarkers, lung pathology and tumor heterogeneity. He is also interested in innovation and digital pathology.
