The AIEST 2021 Conference was held from August 29 to September 1 in Lucerne. For its 70th anniversary edition, this prestigious conference focused on the perspectives of tourism.
Two professors were distinguished for their respective research:
- Professor Thomas Steiner received the Peter Keller award for the best contribution combining theory and practice for his work "Web scraping for real estate list prices in swiss tourism destinations - the advent of citizen brokers?".
- Professor Miriam Scaglione was awarded the second place in the whole conference for her work "Weather conditions in urban destinations - An analysis of visitor flows. The case of the "Geneva City pass" in collaboration with Professor Rodolfo Baggio of Bocconi University and Marut Doctor scientific collaborator at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis.
Both professors are respectively active in the Institute of Management Informatics for Thomas Steiner and in the Institute of Tourism for Miriam Scaglione.
