9th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Computer Science and Information Systems (ICACSIS 2017)
Wednesday 15 November 2017 21:16

Data Semantics Lab attended the 9th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Computer Science and Information Systems (ICACSIS 2017) which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 28th to 29th of October 2017. In this conference, we were represented by the lab member Alex Carmine Olivieri who presented two research papers, co-authored by our lab members.

In the first paper: “Assessing Data Veracity through Domain Specific Knowledge Base Inspection” – a new approach to evaluate the trustworthiness of online information modeled as RDF Triples, has been proposed. This approach generates feature vectors that are used by machine learning classification models to predict the trustworthiness of new input triples. We have conducted experiments on real movie datasets, and the results indicate high accuracy levels.

In the second paper “Completing Cultural Heritage Information through Selective Crowdsourcing”, an approach that uses selective crowdsourcing has been proposed aiming to increase quality control and boost the number of users when collecting cultural heritage-related data.

ICACSIS conference provides a platform for interaction between researchers who are actively involved in Computer Science and Information Systems discipline. This was an exceptional opportunity to display our research work to colleagues from all over the world and exchange ideas with them.
