Toyama (Japan), September 12th, 2019 - Dr. Manfred Zinn and Dr. Fabian Fischer, professors and researchers at the School of Engineering of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis, participated in the first Japan-Germany-Switzerland Workshop for Enzyme Technology and Bioprocess Development.

The professors presented the following subjects during this workshop:

  • Syngas as a carbon source for polyhydroxyalkanoate biosynthesis during fed-batch cultivation of Rhodosprillum rubrum - Prof. Manfred Zinn
  • Enzyme catalysis and bioelectric systems: toward the integration of ionic liquid supported biotransformation with wet microalgae - Prof. Fabian Fischer

This event, the first of its kind, was held in Toyama, Japan. The next edition will take place in Switzerland in 2021.
