AcademiaNet: An International Network for Visibility and Equality

Launched in 2010 by the Robert Bosch Foundation in Stuttgart, AcademiaNet was managed in collaboration with scientific publisher Spektrum der Wissenschaft until 2018. In January 2020, the SNSF assumed management of the platform for a five-year period, continuing its partnership with Spektrum der Wissenschaft, with ongoing financial support from the Robert Bosch Foundation. The portal now includes profiles of over 2,800 distinguished female researchers from across Europe. By enhancing their visibility, AcademiaNet actively supports women’s roles in scientific and academic leadership, facilitates their participation as speakers at specialized conferences, and makes them more accessible to journalists as expert sources.
