Two Master students from Iran, are currently working on the project «Solar Energy Optimization Via a Remote Research Platform», lead by Prof. Fariba Moghaddam, Professor at HES-SO - notably for the Systems Engineering degree program of the School of Engineering.
In the framework of the project «Solar Energy Optimization Via a Remote Research Platform» funded by The Swiss Programme for International Research by Scientific Investigation Teams (SPIRIT) of Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), the two Iranien students work on a test bench composed of several movable Photovoltaic panels, fully instrumented. The goal of their Master project is to compare the different methods of sun tracking using single-axis mobile PV panels to quantify the increase in energy porduction versus fixed PV panels. A realétime embedded controller (CompactRIO of National Instruments) and a Web-based monitoring platform are used to carry out this study.
