In this second Valais/Wallis Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop, we have focussed on several facets of such challenging topics, which has been tackled through presentations from several leading Swiss-based researchers having to cope with small data with motivating applications in environment and geosciences, medicine, energy engineering, robotics and beyond. In this context, general and domain-specific topics in visualization and extraction of relevant features from small and big data will also be discussed.

Roger Schaer presented his work on “Web-Based Tools for Exploring the Potential of Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers in Radiology”.

Sebastian Otalora introduced his work on “Deep Learning in small medical datasets: An active learning approach” at a spotlight session.

Florian Evéquoz presented his work on Visualizing data to get insights.

Calixte Mayoraz introduced his work on "Decision Tree vs. Deep learning for image recognition of a small dataset".
