Food Technology and Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry are the three majors of the Bachelor's programme in Life Sciences Engineering. The future engineers are supervised by lecturers who are active in teaching and research.
The degree programme and the Institute of Life Sciences are committed to providing high-quality training for tomorrow's professionals in the fields of chemistry, food technology and biotechnology.
This degree programme is taught in French and German or bilingual. The third year is given in English to prepare students for their professional careers and for the Master's if they decide to study further.
The school of engineering (HEI), a dynamic and innovative team of 220 collaborators, is proud to announce that together with its academic partners EHL, ETHZ and EPFL, is now Valley partners of the Swiss Food and Nutrition Valley. Being a partner, the HEI will be able to look into collaborating through impact platforms such as sustainable proteins, where traditional agriculture is being rethought, and sustainable packaging, where innovative solutions for changing the current tide on waste are being researched. This partnership will lead to further collaboration and connections with innovative companies and investors to apply our numerous researches done in Ra&D at our Institute of Life Technologies.
