Alexandra Amherd Hidalgo was born in 1987 in Madrid (Spain). She was graduated in 2012 as an Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. From 2009 to 2011, she received advanced education in Materials Sciences and Engineering. During the 2011/2012 Erasmus program, she performed her Master thesis “Powder injection moulding of porous titanium parts” in the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland, Sion (Valais).

Since 2012, she is a research assistant in the Design & Materials Unit of the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland. Her current activities are powder metallurgy of diamond tools and powder injection moulding of shape memory alloys.
