The WIDTH project is a Marie-Curie Action that aims at exchanges between European and Chines partners in medical imaging and image retrieval.  Composed of 11 partners from both Europe and China, the project started on May 16, 2011 with a duration of 36 months.

The goal of the project is to explore the breadth of medical imaging innovations by building in inter-disciplinarity with the application to colossal medical databases. It aims at knowledge transfer to keep abreast of new developments and applications in the field, while fertilising each other’s research, especially between young and experienced researchers and between different disciplines. The key output of the project is a roadmap of the development of future sustainable and flexible data management systems in the digital (paper-less) hospital. This project constitutes a series of programmes including staff exchange, Know-How transfer, as well as sharing and learning workshops, and includes institutions of 6 European and 5 Chinese with participating personnel of 41.
