Patch-Controller Units as Insulin Delivery System


The goal of this project was to demonstrate the feasibility of disposable patch to deliver insulin. The patch should contain no costly element such as electronics or energy, and should be driven by a hand-held device, being also able to test the correct activation of the pumping system.

During the project, a without contact torque transmission solution was developed, in addition a activation sensor, demonstrating thus the feasibility of the concept. Moreover, a prototype, presented in the image, was produced, to show that it was possible to produce this system with reduced costs.
