With its 11 Bachelor’s degree programmes, 3 PEI study programmes and 9 research institutes, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is a leading hub of skills and innovation, preparing students for the world of work, and contributing both to economic and social development and to the creation of jobs within the canton. The HES-SO Valais-Wallis, which enables students to study in Valais, has around 2,800 students and is made up of 5 schools : School of Art, School of Management, School of Engineering, School of Health Sciences, School of Social Work.

Rules and regulations

The missions of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis are derived from the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences Act (LHES) of 6 October 1995, which determines the basic principles governing the Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), their status and their missions:

  • Bachelor’s degree programmes;
  • Master's degree programmes;
  • Continuing education (EMBA, MAS, DAS and CAS);
  • Applied research and development (AR&D);
  • National and international relations.
