The Sion International Airport and the Entrepreneurship & Management Institute (IEM) embarked on a flight to a future dream collaboration after officially signing a partnership agreement.

The first destination was reached last October through the emergency FIGARO exercise held on the tarmac of the Sion airport. Twenty students from the HES-SO Valais-Wallis School of Business and Tourism participated as walk-on passenger roles waiting for a flight that was unfortunately to be cancelled due to a simulated crash. Students experienced the backstage of the airport and especially its crisis management response.

Initially, IEM scientific collaborators observed the behavior of these passengers and the staff in charge of boarding. Afterwards, two workshops were organized with these participants to assess their emotional perception of the crisis exercise to suggest improvement proposals to the airport.

In the future, this collaboration will focus mainly on the work of students (Masters, Bachelors or others programs) in connection with the airport platform of Sion. In this sense, a Master's degree in innovation (Innokick) has already begun.
