The Institute of Information Systems HES-SO Valais-Wallis will organize the first international workshop on BlockChain Technologies for Multi-Agent Systems (BCT4MAS). The Workshop is co-organized by Davide Calvaresi, Alevtina Dubovitskaya, Michael Schumacher (Institute of Information Systems, HES-SO Valais-Wallis), and Kuldar Taveter (Tallin University of Technology).

BCT4MAS will be co-held with the international conference Web Intelligence (WI2018) the 3rd December 2018 in Santiago, Chile.

MAS (Multi-agent system) are composed of loosely coupled and interconnected entities (agents) able to solve problems and attain their goals by interacting with each other through collaboration, negotiation, and competition patterns. Modern MAS are increasingly dealing with sensitive data. Therefore, the security of identities, transactions, and trust have to be enforced.

BCT is a P2P distributed ledger technology providing shared, immutable, transparent, and updatable (append-only) registers of given values characterizing a given network.

Binding these two technologies (BCT and MAS) can represent a win-win solution, attracting contributions from both theoretical and practical researchers.
