EDHEA combines an applied arts school, part of the Swiss Design Schools, and a tertiary art university, offering a Bachelor in Visual Arts and the MAPS Master. It provides training in graphic design, preparation for art school entrance exams, and an environment conducive to experimenting with various disciplines.
School of Art
The Haute Ecole de Gestion (HEG) in Sierre offers Bachelor’s degrees in Tourism, Business Administration, and Business Information Systems, integrating theory and practice. The Business Administration program covers essential topics like financial management and marketing and encourages interaction with professors involved in businesses and research. The Business Information Systems Bachelor combines technical and economic skills, offering unique options like a dual Bachelor in Finland. The Tourism program is trilingual, focusing on marketing, event management, and the creation of tourism products.

The School of Engineering at HES-SO Valais-Wallis, on the Energypolis campus in Sion, offers Bachelor’s studies emphasizing “Learning by Doing.” With 4 study programs and 4 research institutes, it brings together 260 researchers and educates 470 students.

The HES-SO Valais-Wallis School of Health offers nursing programs in Sion and Visp, and physiotherapy in Leukerbad. Students alternate between theory and practice for optimal preparation in health professions, with opportunities for studying abroad.

Rules and regulations

The missions of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis are derived from the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences Act (LHES) of 6 October 1995, which determines the basic principles governing the Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), their status and their missions:

  • Bachelor’s degree programmes;
  • Master's degree programmes;
  • Continuing education (EMBA, MAS, DAS and CAS);
  • Applied research and development (AR&D);
  • National and international relations.
