If we are to make the transition to sustainable production and consumption systems with net zero carbon emissions, we must increase energy and material efficiency, reduce pollution and switch to renewable energies in all areas: housing, industry, transport, food and services.

We need to adopt a life-cycle perspective to accurately assess the environmental sustainability of any technology or product system. We also need a territorial vision if we are to rethink the way we produce, consume and use available resources. We need to work closely with local stakeholders to deliver practical measures that support transition strategies.
