Sophie Carrard completed her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physiotherapy in 2019 at the School of Health Sciences, HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Leukerbad, followed by a Master of Sciences degree in Physiotherapy in the field of the development of the profession at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) in 2022. She worked as a physiotherapist in various private practices between 2019 and 2021, with a focus on the musculoskeletal area, and still makes replacements.
In 2020, she joined the PhysioLab at School of Health Sciences of HES-SO Valais-Wallis as a research assistant. She’s involved in multiple research projects and in the management of the GLA:D® programmes for Western Switzerland. Since 2021, she’s also assisting professors in various courses at Bachelor level, mainly in the fields of research methods and statistics. Since 2023, she holds a post of a senior academic associate and is in charge of several courses and Bachelor’s theses at the Physiotherapy section of the School of Health Sciences based in Leukerbad.
In 2023, she has obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Economic Evaluations & Health Technology Assessment at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
