Olivier Collignon is the head of the Crossmodal Perception and Plasticity laboratory (CPP-Lab), a vibrant place hosting 18 researchers from several countries and with diverse backgrounds which creates a fertile environment for the development of multidisciplinary research.

The CPP lab relies on the respective advantages of a plurality of methods (Psychophysics, EEG/MEG, stereotactic-EEG, TMS, fMRI) to converge toward a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying crossmodal perception and plasticity. Olivier was among the first to generate the idea that crossmodal reorganization in sensory deprived people is constrained by the original computational duties of the reorganized region. His scientific achievements, both conceptual and methodological, prompted several (inter)national collaborations. His work has been well received by the scientific community as witnessed by numerous publications in recognized multidisciplinary journals or flagship journals in the field of cognitive neuroscience, and by the numerous grants received to support his research.

Olivier is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals [H-index: 42 (Google scholar, November 2022)- Complete list available at: https://cpplab.be/publications/]. Olivier has attracted more than 5M Euros of research funding, from >10 different international agencies including the ERC, Marie-Curie actions (ITN + 4 pdocs fellowships), FNRS (doc/pdoc fellowships, MIS, Excellence of Science FNRS/FWO), MIUR-PRIN, Flag-ERA HumanBrainProject etc. Olivier is recognized as a leader in his field of research as illustrated by the numerous invitations he receives to give talks at conferences and institutions (80+ talks given in the last 5 years).
