A Summer School in Shanghai

In partnership with Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Swissnex China, Soon Ching Ling Foundation, the Institute Entrepreurship & Management and the Tourism degree program from the HES-SO Valais-Wallis are organizing a summer school in Shanghai. Called « Sino-Swiss Service Studies », this summer school is going to take place from the 22^nd of August to the 3rd of September. The topic of this formation is the « Service Design applied to Tourism ».

The « Service Design » is focused on customer experience during a service. This methodology allows to counter the traditional innovation methods gaps. In addition, « Service Design » permits to deliver a high value added to the client. The School of Management and Tourism of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is a leader in this field of competence by integrating this thematic in the bachelor degree programs. In addition, a Master in Business Administration offers a program based on « Service Design ».

For this edition, eight Swiss students will meet their Chinese colleagues to work in multicultural group. The summer school program will focus on management of unforeseen events and will be organized in the form of theoretical and practical workshops. These courses will introduce students to staging, quality management and blueprint methodology. The students will also have to play mystery clients and stage their observations to improve the customer experience.

This first edition of the summer school will be a true opportunity to create the basis of a durable partnership for students exchange twice a year: one week in China and one week in Switzerland.

The Swiss delegation, in addition to the Swiss students, is composed by:
