Participation in the Mystères de l'UNIL 2019

The Institute of Information Systems HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sierre will participate on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May 2019 in the Mystères de l'UNIL 2019.

Paul Matusz and his colleagues from the CHUV, UNIL and HES-SO Valais-Wallis created a demo called "Visual Troubles": See The World Through Their Eyes" for use in a workshop on dyslexia and amblyopia (difference in visual acuity between the eyes). It will be an opportunity to show children how they perceive the world.

These disorders, which are relatively frequent, often lead to a lot of frustration, feelings of failure, or mockery from classmates. In this workshop, the researchers propose, in order to better understand what these children are experiencing, to simulate these disorders on yourself with different techniques. On the other hand, it will be possible to experiment with how virtual reality and video games can be used to treat or study these disorders.
