The Sense

The Sense is an academic research center dedicated to innovation, research, and training on sensory systems. This initiative is the result of a collaboration between three Swiss academic partners: the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Valais-Wallis (HES-SO Valais-Wallis), the University of Lausanne (UNIL), and the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV).

The Sense is attached to the School of Health. Within the HES-SO Valais/Wallis, investigators recruited by the Universities of the HES-SO Valais/Wallis and affiliated with the Sense come, to date, from four research institutes: Institute of Health, Institute of Systems Engineering,  Institute of Informatics, and Institute of Life Technologies. Indeed, the innovation, research, and training activities of the Sense are centered around several main axes: Perception & Cognition, Action & Repair, Devices & Data.
