After last year's edition had to be held online, this year’s edition of the Point-of-Care Diagnostics Symposium took place in Davos. The team led by Prof. Marc Emil Pfeifer of the HEI (HES-SO Valais-Wallis) and Dr Samantha Paoletti of the CSEM organised a conference where the latest industrial, medical and academic advances in point-of-care diagnostics were presented to the participating scientists, doctors, industry representatives, experts and researchers from Switzerland and beyond.
Prof. Harald zur Hausen, Nobel laureate in medicine, captivated the audience with his talk about links of bovine meat and milk factors (BMMFs) and their role in human cancer.
Prof. Ethel-Michele de Villiers spoke about her recent research on new infectious agents linked to colon, breast and prostate cancer.
Prof. Olli Tenuvo addressed the major challenges related to the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI), a major public health issue with over 50 million victims per year worldwide.
Poster presentations and exhibitions provided an opportunity to further explore the various presented topics. Congratulations to Benjamin Ricken (BÜHLMANN Laboratories AG) on winning the Poster Award.
We would like to thank all speakers, sponsors and the organising committee for this exceptional event.
See you on 20 October 2022 in Muttenz!
