For 30 years, the School of Engineering, located in Sion, has been producing engineers who boast a wide variety of skills and who are capable of devising and managing projects that respond to the developments in our society. The School of Engineering offers four degree programmes:
- The Life Technologies degree programme favours a multidisciplinary approach and offers 3 different majors: food processing, biotechnology and analytical chemistry.
- The Computer Science and Communication Systems degree programme equips students with the tools they need to respond to the challenges posed by the digitalisation of society. It provides them with cutting-edge skills, particularly in the areas of programming, cloud development and big data, and artificial intelligence.
- The Energy and Environmental Engineering degree programme began in 2013, with a view to meeting the energy challenges that will face our country in the coming years. Engineers graduating from this degree programme will have sound scientific knowledge in the field of energy and will be aware of the environmental constraints and of the technologies that can be used to comply with the relevant standards.
- The Systems Engineering degree programme requires an interest in product design, analysis and development. It enables students to acquire scientific and technical expertise as well as social and interpersonal skills.
The education provided by these four degree programmes is characterised by close contact with the professional world, and thus guarantees good employability in a wide range of sectors of activity. In addition, the degree programmes work closely with the Institutes of Life Technologies, Systems Engineering, Sustainable Energy and Informatics, in particular in connection with these and numerous research projects.
The School of Engineering is constantly expanding its teaching, research and innovation activities.
