The HES-SO Valais-Wallis School of Engineering, comprised of 4 degree programmes and 4 affiliated research institutes, represents a dynamic and innovative team of 260 resarchers, professors and collaborators.
Every year, about 470 students are trained and shaped throughout the bachelor's and master's degree programmes as well as PhD students in collaboration with partner universities in Switzerland and around the world.
The 4 research institutes collaborate closely and extensively with industries and academia, yielding a turnover of 20 million Swiss francs and more than 400 projects per year.
The School of Engineering trains and shapes engineers to bring on tomorrow's challenges. By applicated research and development, the School of Engineering contributes in innovating for society and the industry. Three fondemental concepts are at the heart of this success:
The School of Engineering's students, professors and researchers maintain human and professional relations. Thanks to a broad and priviliged network with the industrial and economic world, the university contributes to an innovative ecosystem at a national and international level.
The studies offered here at the university are centered on the student's experience with the majority of teaching based on practical work, case studies, collaborative and interdisciplinary projects. All of this, of course, is based on the theoritical foundations of engineering.
Designed and animated to cater to student life, researchers and start-ups, our facilities, along with our laboratories and workspaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, foster the emergence of innovative projects.
