Digital Team Academy

To become a business IT specialist, the Digital Team Academy relies on your ability to acquire the necessary technical skills, as well as your autonomy, creativity (design thinking) and ability to interact and communicate.

At the start of each semester, you will be responsible for designing and adapting your 'training contract'. Once it has been validated by the professor/coach, he or she sets the milestones for your own learning path, which serves as a guide for the construction of your skills portfolio. You can then validate these skills and build the "training contract" for the following semesters.

The Digital Team Academy's participative teaching approach encourages you to take individual responsibility and organise your own learning path. In this way, it enhances your entrepreneurial skills, your self-leadership and your ability to manage the choices and learning opportunities associated with your future career path (Long-Life-Learning).

The majority of the Digital Team Academy programme focuses on learning through practical experience. You will work on practical projects in collaboration with a complete ecosystem including professors/coaches, local companies and partners, and research institutes.

For several years now, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis has been offering a proactive and collaborative learning environment through its Team Academy programme.

The Digital Team Academy relies on collective intelligence and the co-creation of your knowledge, particularly through continuous interaction with your fellow students, as well as with the professors/coaches who will accompany you and validate your progress.

After an initial semester of immersion, during which you will learn the necessary technical basics and the main concepts of business IT, your course progresses gradually through practical projects (learning-by-doing), which you will first develop and manage for a fictitious client (semesters 2 to 3) and then finally respond to real needs for real clients (semesters 4 to 6).

You will produce reflective articles on the subjects necessarily covered in the practical projects. These will be validated, shared and communicated to your peers.

In developing the Digital Team Academy, the HES-SO Valais-Wallis has drawn on the experience of the Business Team Academy, which has been running successfully for several years now. The solidity and validity of the Team Academy model is therefore also being proposed for the Business Information Technology programme.

In addition, the Business Information Technology programme at the HES-SO Valais-Wallis has been collaborating and setting up projects with companies and the Swiss economy for over 30 years.

Our Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology also enjoys an excellent reputation on the job market. Finally, the Digital Team Academy enables you to obtain the famous ECTS credits that mark out your course of study and open the doors you need.

What are the prerequisites for joining the Digital Team Academy?

Apart from being highly motivated and having a strong desire to take responsibility of your own studies, you need to have a commercial or technical baccalaureat. If you don't think you have in-depth IT knowledge, don't worry, the Digital Team Academy is there for you.

In short: YOU ARE IMPORTANT

During the Digital Team Academy, you will not be evaluated by simply taking exams. Your skills are evaluated using a 360-degree approach that takes into account a wide range of feedback, including from professors/coaches and fellow students, as well as from experts and experienced professionals.

In an idyllic setting that combines quality of life, fresh air and nature, you'll benefit from a first-rate training experience and a motivating, fun-filled environment.

In short: PRACTICE, PRACTICE & MORE PRACTICE

Without any prior technological knowledge, you will discover and master different programming languages such as Java and C# (C Sharp), Python, PHP (including Framework) or even Javascript, CSS and HTML.

You will learn to master technologies such as React JS and React Native or Angular as part of the development of web and mobile applications.

You will pay particular attention to user experience (UX Design). You will discover and implement ERP solutions and related integrations.

Depending on the projects you work on, you will learn about concepts such as blockchain, machine learning, artificial intelligence and Green IT.

Generally speaking, the topics covered deal with the acquisition, processing and enhancement of data, while respecting the principles of data security and protection.

In short: ADVANCED TRAINING TO MEET CURRENT NEEDS

From September onwards, the training will take place in Sierre, in the canton of Valais, on the premises of the Maison de l'Entrepreneuriat, which is part of the Swiss Digital Center, on a full-time, face-to-face basis only.

You provide the hardware, and the school takes care of the software.

Training and tuition fees, which are the same as for full-time and part-time courses, amount to CHF 775.00 per semester plus a CHF 150.00 registration fee.

The cost of living in the Valais is lower than in many of our neighbouring cantons, if you have to live and pay for accommodation locally.

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology, you can work on developing information systems, modelling and securing data, managing complex IT projects or even becoming a consultant or setting up your own company.

You can also continue your studies by taking a Master's degree, for example, and why not go on to a Doctorate.
