Welcome to the website of the Hydroelectricity Group !

The Hydroelectricity Group is part of the Institutes of Sustainable Energy (IEE) and Systems Engineering (ISI) of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis.

The Group carries out applied research and development in the field of hydraulic and electric machines for small and large hydropower, from numerical simulation to measurements on the test bench to predict performance and to optimise and develop new technologies.

The experience of the group and the existing research infrastructures also benefit the training of the future engineers in the degree programmes Systems Engineering and Energy and Environmental Engineering, especially in the fields of renewable energies and hydropower. The Group also offers professional development courses.
